NWAC All-Region Teams Announced
VANCOUVER, Wash. – The Northwest Athletic Conference released the women’s basketball all-Region awards on Tuesday, March. 15. All-Region honors are awarded by the four different NWAC regions and voted upon by coaches inside each respective region. All-Region awards feature Most Valuable Player, Coach of the Year, 1st Team all-Region, 2nd Team all-Region, Freshman of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, and All-Defensive team.
Freshman Brooklynn Hankwitz earned NWAC South Region 2nd Team honors. In league play Hankwitz averaged 14.2 points per game, shot 81.6% from the free throw line, and grabbed 6.1 rebounds per game. Hankwitz had four straight doubles-doubles to begin league play this year and scored 20-plus points on five different occasions. Hankwitz earned NWAC South Region All-Freshman Team honors.
Roadrunner freshman Kathleen Hale earned NWAC South Region All-Defensive Team honors. Hale finished the year with 29 steals and 109 total rebounds in league play. Hale committed only 25 personal fouls in league play, the fewest among the NWAC South Region All-Defensive Team.
Roadrunners Liz Chavez, Sabrina Albee, Emmaly Welch, and Halo Parks all received Honorable Mention honors for the NWAC Southern Region.
